In this video, some basic functions and the recording of multiple
tracks are introduced. |
This video shows how to use some of the “effects” features (i.e.
amplify and noise removal). |
This video highlights more advanced features such as zoom, deletion of errors, fade-in and fade-out, and pitch change. It also mentions that new effects are being created continuously and are available for download. |
This pair of tutorials by Mitch Ward are a great place to continue learning about the functions of Audacity.
A more in depth tutorial that begins with that basics, and then
discusses topics such as volume adjustment, the delete/cut tool, and saving vs. exporting completed files. |
A great overview on editing and combining tracks into one file. The
video shows how to import and open several music clips and pre-recorded tracks, and then edit and combine them into one continuous piece. Functions such as fading, the select tool, track muting, track sliding, sound level, and exporting to Wave or Mp3 are also discussed. |
Making a Podcast with Audacity
In this podcasting tutorial, the author first shows how to import Mp3
music files, and then how to select a segment of this music for use at the beginning and end of the podcast. A description of how to edit the music clip using the fading and envelope tools are also provided. The he shows how to record your speaking track independent of the music intro, while encouraging you to try a few times if you don’t like your recording, or if you make a mistake (its easy to delete the track, or parts of it, and try again). He also shows how to copy and paste your intro music for use at the end of the podcast, so you don’t have to re-edit your music clip from scratch. |
This tutorial covers voice recording, importing music and editing multiple tracks. The video also shows how to set up the recording so that you can have background music playing at the same time as the speaking track; volume control of the music
track is also discussed. Exporting is also covered, as well as a description of how to reduce file size using iTunes (i.e. converting large Wave files into much smaller Mp3 files, while maintaining the sound quality). |
This is a how-to podcasting video, showing a slightly different way to approach editing and music insertion within your recording. One of the highlights in this video is how to convert music from stereo to mono in order to reduce the size of the file. |
